Coached self-publishing, defined
Coached self-publishing is a way to publish your own book where you stay the publisher of record and keep your rights and royalties, while a coach or service team guides the writing, editing, formatting, design, and launch. Defining Moments Press uses this model: it is paid a fee for its service instead of taking a share of book sales.
It sits between pure DIY self-publishing, where you do every task alone, and traditional publishing, where a publisher pays production costs but controls the book and keeps most of the royalties. For a professional who wants a finished book quickly and wants to own the asset, the coached route removes the guesswork without giving up control.
